Simple Routine for a Perfect Posture The body angles that you create at address determine the quality of your pivot, and ultimately, they decide your ability to turn about a consistent axis. That’s the very essence of a repeating swing. All golfers should carefully monitor their position very closely. The key is to set up the same way every time, so that you can concentrate on learning to make one swing and one swing only. Use the following exercise for several weeks, and it will help you attain perfect posture. Take a mid-iron, make your grip, and use the following four-step routine to get an idea of what a good posture feels like.
- With the insides of your feet spread to the width of your shoulders, stand up straight and have your arms comfortably extended in front of your body.
- Flex your knees until you feel a springy tension in each thigh. Stick your rear end out a little and sense that your weight is balanced on the balls of your feet.
- Bend gently from the hips until the sole of the club touches the ground, The upper part of each arm should now be resting lightly on your chest,
- Perk the whole of your left side up slightly, and at the same time relax the right side of your body- letting it soften and kink in.
My guess is that this position feels totally alien to you and about as likely to produce a good swing as standing on your head. This is how it will feel for a while, but it gets more comfortable with practice. Repetition has its rewards, and as you become more familiar with the sensation of a good posture you will find that you begin to adopt this posture more naturally
